> Continuous Improvement Strategies
You just don’t believe what your boss tells you about Lean’s capabilities.
Most people have a baseline as far as what they think can be accomplished with continuous improvement. So, when a leader starts talking about Lean capabilities, many people take the message with a grain of salt. The gains that Lean offers can seem too good to be true, especially to someone in an organization that has been working hard but seeing little improvement.
Problem
You just don’t believe what your boss tells you about Lean’s capabilities.
How this affects you
If you think your leaders are setting unrealistic expectations about how much Lean can deliver, you may believe you are wasting your time.
Action to Take
Ask your boss if you can attend another team’s report out from an improvement project. Report outs (which are also occasionally called sunset reports) are short summaries (ten minutes or so) of a team’s accomplishments. Project teams normally present report outs on the Friday of a kaizen week.
