Stopgaps (Part 2)

Continuous Improvement Audio Terms

  1. Watch for wasteful steps in a process and see how many started out as a temporary method. It is surprising how many processes started their lives as a stopgap.
  2. Develop a process for managing stopgaps. Designate a means to track the actions to eliminate the stopgap, and a method to communicate progress to the team. The morning stand-up meeting is a good place for this.
