Respect for People (Part 2)

A well-executed continuous improvement management system lays a lot of the groundwork that helps a leader show the proper level of respect to her employees.

Here are a few tips to building that respectful system:

  1. Start with an assessment to see where your opportunities and strengths lie.
  2. Focus on setting clear, reasonable expectations.
  3. Provide ample training for team members to take on more improvement responsibility in their work areas.
  4. Implement some form of Leaders Standard Work to get yourself into the gemba on a regular basis.
  5. Make sure team members have a way to get help and work together so one person is not overtaxed while another is in a lull.

Note that Velaction offers consulting and training services that can help you create a respectful and productive workspace.
