Overview

A3 thinking is a highly refined form of PDCA that uses an ‘A3′ size paper (11 x 17 inches) to depict a storyboard of the solution to a problem. But the A3 report is only the tip of the iceberg. Solving problems the A3 way requires a structured approach to thinking, a systematic way of communicating with all the affected parties, and a concise way of distilling the problem down into the key points.

This one hour webinar (60 minutes of instruction plus up to 15 minutes allocated for questions and answers) provides an overview of the A3 management process and some direction in how to get started practicing A3 thinking in your organization.

The A3 management process is a systematic way of looking at a problem, and applying critical thinking skills in a highly effective manner.

The A3 process shifts the problem solving focus from the implementation of a solution to more completely understanding the true nature of a problem and building a consensus about what the root cause is. Only then can the problem solver move on to developing (and testing) countermeasures. That focus on understanding before acting increases the odds of successful problem resolution dramatically.
